  1.                           Knowledge Base

  3.     The knowledge base is designed to form institution memory of 
  4. investment decisions.  Each investment decision is recorded, along 
  5. with market statistics.  At a future date, the user can recall 
  6. the investment decisions, when the market closely resembles the days 
  7. closing market.
  8.      As  an  expert  system,   the  Inference  Engine will evaluate
  9. current economic conditions with previous periods. The expert system 
  10. will match the previous conditions to the existing period.   If  
  11. the stored  economic conditions are similar, then the previous 
  12. decision will be displayed  that the  human investment manager 
  13. executed.  All decisions for the  current  economic  condition  will 
  14. be displayed.  This provides institutional  memory and an experience 
  15. base.  The depth of the expert system  expands as it is used.  
  16. It may take  months of building the experience base before the expert  
  17. system component will be executed.  The historical database, 
  18. supplied with the expert system does not directly effect the knowledge 
  19. base.   Until the Inference Engine can make  a  match, only  the 
  20. display   "No Similar Economic Conditions Exist."
